Job summary

You will work closely with our experienced and friendly team.The purpose of the role is to provide general clerical, administrative and reception duties to the Acute Medical Unit.

The successful applicant will be expected to work both as part of a team and to use their own initiative and work unsupervised to ensure the effective co-ordination of duties.

Previous clerical experience and knowledge of the healthcare environment would be an advantage.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with our experienced and friendly team.The purpose of the role is to provide general clerical, administrative and reception duties.

You will be working with our new EPR (Electronic Patient Record) system and will be involved in the admitting, transfering and discharging patients.

You will be involved in ensuring discharge letters are complete and relevant appointments made.

About us

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
