As
a general manager you will lead a group of services at a senior level assuming
overall responsibility for delivering safe, compassionate and joined up care to
our patients. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders you will
be responsible for service delivery across a number of specialties
Main duties of the job
To meet the needs of this role you will be a senior leader
with a proven record of leading teams to deliver high quality patient
care. This role demands exceptional
leadership qualities, the ability to build credible relationships at all system
levels and the tenacity to ensure we deliver high quality patient care through
efficient and effective operational services and strategic planning. As one of
the Trusts senior operational managers you will demonstrate a flexible,
responsive and innovative approach to service delivery ensuring that service
demand is met safely and effectively at local and regional level through our
ICB partnerships.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Job responsibilities
Following a recent management restructure we are looking to
appoint a General Managers to join our operational team.
This is an exciting time to join the team at County Durham
and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust as we embed a new structure with a strong focus
on compassionate leadership and the delivery of significant strategic
objectives in the coming months and years.
From an acute Medicine perspective we are currently looking
to transform our 5-day service model into a 7 day model focusing on parity of
access to services to improve patient outcomes as well as improving patient,
and staff, experience.
Having recently modernised the footprint of our Same Day
Emergency Care facilities within both of our Emergency Departments, we are now
in the process of co-locating our Urgent Care facility at University Hospital
of North Durham. Recognising the need
to ensure that we have a sustainable ED service for the future an exciting
project has commenced to create a new Emergency Care Centre at the University
Hospital of North Durham.
Due to our continued focussed work from an elective recovery
perspective CDDFT is performing well against the national targets set by NHS
England, with excellent performance in both diagnostic services and cancer too.
Having recently just secured a further 5 year contract for
community services there is the continued opportunity to work closely with our
partners within social services supporting people closer to home

- Masters level qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience Educated to first degree level or equivalent
