Ward
43 and ARU is an Acute Respiratory Ward with a dedicated Acute Repiratory Unit
at Darlington Memorial Hospital, which is recruiting into a permananet
position, a motivated and driven Band 7 Ward Manager to lead and manage their
team. This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced registered
nurse who is highly motivated and enthusiastic, with a keen interest in caring
for patients with Acute Respiratory conditions and is looking for a change of
direction / opportunity to sharpen their skills within Ward Management and
Leadership

effective leadership and management skills in order to lead the team to deliver
high quality,safe, effective, patient focused care.
The
post holder will lead the Nursing team in providing care to patients with the
support of the Matron. The post holder will demostrate effectively working
within a team environment, have excellent communication skills, initiative,
drive, demonstrate enthusiasm about the role and share our passion and vision
for providing high quality patient care.
Main duties of the job
The
successful candidate will provide leadership, clinical expertise and
organisation,
assuming 24 hour
responsibility for the effective management of the Ward and Acute Respiratory
Unit.
They will continuously
monitor, assess, develop and enhance knowledge and skills that will directly
influence consistent standards of clinical practice and ensure the highest
possible standards of evidence based care are achieved in order to promote safe
patient centred care
The post holder will lead
and manage the ward team. They will also
contribute to overall service & quality improvement, and day-to-day
management.
They will promote patient
centred high quality evidence based care to patients on the ward, ensuring the
patient is central to all aspects of treatment and care.
Responsibility for ensuring
the effective and efficient use of all resources, recruiting within
establishment, as well as controlling ward expenditure and management of the
ward budget.
Communicate effectively
with all the multi- disciplinary teams both internal and external to the
organisation.
Provide
clinical leadership to their nursing and AHP group of staff within the ward and
throughout the care group.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
