Job summary

The Co Durham and Darlington NHS FT Health Informatics Service is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Data Security & Protection Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our team to undertake effective and efficient administrative duties.

As an Administrator you will be responsible for supporting the Data Security Protection Team and the Trust Data Protection Officer ensuring the service meets and improves all areas relating data security and protection through the delivery of high-quality administration support.

Main duties of the job

The role will have a focus on supporting the department with fulfilling it Data Security & Protection requirements. The role will require communicating with individuals of all levels, both internally and externally with particular focus on:

Carrying out all admin duties associated with DSP meetings to ensure effective and efficient management requirements are met.

Assist relevant staff with the collection, collation and analysis of data to develop reports for presentations and meetings.

Support the business admin team in carrying out the processes to ensure that all Data Security and Protection documentation is reviewed and maintained in compliance with Trust policies.

Support the management of audit, risk and compliance management across all health informatics teams.

Show a willingness to learn and an interest in Data Security and Protection and subject areas.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

  • Previous Administration experience.
  • Meeting management (including scheduling, minute taking, updating action logs etc).
  • Preparing papers and reports for meetings.
  • Experience of carrying out spot checks / audits for monitoring and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Evidence of successfully working to deadlines and completing tasks.

Desirable

  • Experience in the use and operation of electronic systems.
  • Working in an NHS environment.

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • NVQ level 3 or above qualification in related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages including but not limited to Excel, Word and PowerPoint should be evidenced in your application.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of SharePoint and Office 365 to deliver the requirements described in the dimensions of the post.
  • Qualification in Data Protection.
  • Knowledge or experience in information risk management.
