Job summary
We are
looking for an exceptional person to join the senior leadership team of our
highly performing Trust in a newly developed role. Working closely with Executive Directors you
will be required to lead a team of both in-house professionals and external
consultants to successfully manage the capital estates portfolio and act as the
Trust representative across the Trust's 3 PFI sites including day to day
management of the lifecycle investment plan and operational delivery in line
with the contract. The post will also be
required to lead on and prepare for PFI contract expiry.
This
is an exciting opportunity for someone ambitious who is ready to progress in
their career . The postholder will build
and develop partnerships within their team, across clinical and non-clinical
teams in the Trust, with the Trust's wholly owned subsidiary, PFI
partners and external agencies.
The postholder will be a construction
professional (RIBA, RICS, CIBSE, IET, IHEEM or similar) with experience of
working at senior management level and an ability to demonstrate a thorough
understanding of development and project delivery in the NHS or PFI market
Salary Range is£90,000-£96,000
dependent upon experience and market conditions as approved by Rem & Nom
Committee
Main duties of the job
The postholder will contribute to the Estates and Facilities
strategy, policies, development, management, and leadership whilst ensuring
that the corporate objectives of the Trust are achieved.
You will be the accountable for the delivery of the Trusts
capital estate programme from inception to completion, the development and
maintenance of the 5 year Capital Estates Plan, and will act as the Trust
representative for its 3 PFI projects.
Working with PFI partners including the day to day
management of the lifecycle investment plan and operational delivery in line
with the contract as well as leading on and preparing for PFI contract expiry
ensuring that the hospitals are handed back in the required condition in
accordance with contractual provisions.
You will be expected to build and develop partnerships with
clinical and non-clinical colleagues, the Trusts wholly owned subsidiary
company, PFI partners and external agencies to ensure all estates/capital
planning strategies, initiatives and implications are considered as part of
responding to, and shaping, the Trusts Clinical Service Strategy and the
development of the longer term Trust strategy.

- An in-depth understanding of the commissioning process and how this relates to working within a Trust and with other partners.
