Job summary

Fixed term or secondment opportunity.

An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a self motivated individual who is keen to be at the forefront of IT innovation within the NHS. You will be part of a dedicated, hardworking team delivering first point of contact for all County Durham and Darlington issues and queries, providing excellent customer services by focusing on providing information on the procurement of hardware and software.

Main duties of the job

Taking calls from customers via the telephone, email and the Self Service portal.

Obtaining quotations from Suppliers and Procuring hardware and software for users in a timely manner.

Ordering new equipment and arranging delivery to the end user.

Maintaining an inventory of ICT hardware and software.

Issue advice and guidance to service users, using procedures used within IM&T.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Support the ICT Customer Services Manager in the provision of the service.

Order new equipment and arrange delivery to ICT service users in an efficient and timely manner.

Assist in the development of ICT procedures and policies.

Assist in the preparation of ad hoc and routine billing and monitoring reports.

  • Knowledge and experience of multiple systems.
  • Knowledge of supporting users remotely.
  • Knowledge of ITIL.

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSE passes (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics

Desirable

  • ITIL Awareness.

Experience

  • Knowledge of common PC operating systems.
  • Experience of supporting users with computer hardware, software, and peripherals.

Desirable

  • NHS Experience
