Job summary
Working
within the Anaesthetics department the post holder will be required to provide
effective, confidential administrative support on a day-to-day basis for a team
of up to 49 Anaesthetic Consultants/SAS Grade Doctors and Junior Dcotors to
ensure that their needs are fully met, by working within demanding time
constraints by prioritisation of own workload. The post holder will need to be
proactive, flexible and responsive to the changing needs and demands of the
organisation and to support the .smooth running of the administration duties. Knowledge of EPR and CLW system is diserable
but full training will be given.
Main duties of the job
Ensure the CLW rota system is updated with Anaesthetic cover
for all elective and non elective surgery lists as well as providing cover for
OBS/ITU/Pre Assessment and on calls
Book all anaesthetic and
CPET clinic appointments and ensure clinic letters are completed within
the appropriate timescale.
Provide secretarial support to the Lead
Clinician and all anaesthetists as well as working closely with the Theatre and
Anaesthetic Management Team and Theatre Scheduling Teams across base sites.

- Good standard of Education Minimum of 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at C Grade or above including English Language.
- NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent knowledge/experience (or working towards).
Experience

- Knowledge of computer packages, eg Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.
- Ability to analyse and present data using Excel and other Microsoft Packages
- Ability to use email and maintain and update electronic diaries
- Knowledge of Data Protection and Caldicott Principles and understanding of the need to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Good interpersonal skills
