A exciting opportunity has arisen for a Infrastructure
Support Officer at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust which is
one of the largest integrated care providers in England, serving a population

The Health Informatics department requires a permanent Infrastructure
Support Officer to work within its existing team of Server Specialists
providing 3rd line support. The purpose of the role is to provide high quality IT
infrastructure support ensuring the maximum system uptime and resilience for
business and clinical systems.
The role requires a high level of confidence and a sound
knowledge of IT infrastructure in order to provide the delivery of excellence
within the team.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Health
Informatics team supporting the day to day activties, maintenance, monitoring
and performance management of Trust infrastructure to ensure optimum
performance and availability.
The post holder will assist with maintaining the operational
capability of Trust IT infrastructure including physical and virtual server
environments together with providing BAU support for server applications in
terms of third level technician support and be willing to learn new and
emerging technologies.
Liaising with other teams within the department as required
on technical issues, and with third party customer organisations.
Participate in the ICT on-call cover rotas as
necessary.

Ensure
the trust datacentre and server rooms are maintained to a high standard.

Contribute
to planning and support of BAU system upgrades on Microsoft Windows, Linux,

Act as
triage point of contact for the server team, check tickets escalated to the
server team
(3rd line) for required detail and assign to
the Server Specialist resource as required.
Support
and assist the Server Specialists by undertaking routine server maintenance and
housekeeping
tasks when required.
Supporting
the departments ITIL processes.
Support
ICT users to investigate IT operational requirements functions that contribute
to
improvements
in the application of IT and the development of new or changed
processes/procedures and ICT Infrastructure.
Support
problem reviews with the intention of identifying what went wrong, right and
what can
be done to improve the response in the future.
Outcome of the review should also identify how
to prevent the reoccurrence of the major
problem.
Monitor
IT infrastructure management systems software and appropriate analysis
equipment to
collect routine network load statistics, model
performance, and create reports as required.
Complete
routine configuration/installation and reconfiguration of hardware and
software.
Keep
abreast of IT developments and technologies in order to effectively carry out
the duties of
