Job summary

If so Health Informatics at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust may have the perfect role for you! We are seeking a dedicated Systems Support Administrator to join our ever evolving Systems team.

As a Systems Support Administrator, you will play a vital role in providing administrative technical support and assistance for the Trust's Clinical IT systems.

The post offered offers great potential for personal and career development and enables you to enhance your knowledge of clinical IT Systems.

We are able to offer flexible/hybrid working with the ability to be based at one of several sites across County Durham, including at locations in Darlington, Annfield Plain and Peterlee.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with our IT teams and end-users, you will ensure the reliable operation and support of our clinical systems, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

You will need to be customer focused, pro-active, possess strong communication skills, confident IT skills and a strong work ethic. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team, committed to working together in supporting our clinical services.

You will be administering clinical IT systems, reviewing and granting access requests and support end users on the systems you are assigned to support.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

  • IT qualification (GCSE / A-Level or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Vocational IT qualifications (eg ECDL)
  • A good comprehension of NHS clinical software.
  • Customer Service training or qualifications
  • NVQ level 3 in Business Administration / experience.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of providing administrative or technical support.
  • Experience of communicating directly and indirectly with senior personnel.

Desirable

  • Experience within an IM&T/systems related environment.
  • Experience of working within an IT Service Desk environment.
  • Experience of working within the NHS.

Special Skills & Knowledge

  • Good knowledge/ability/confidence to use appropriate computer hardware and software, e.g. Microsoft Office, internet browsers and file management.
  • Excellent organisational, inter-personal and communication skills.
