We're delighted to advertise this brand new post, for an
experienced and forward thinking Children's Community Nurse to lead our
community services for children. Our services are extensive and varied and
cover a vast geogrpahy. They include a 7 day per week acute nursing service
(delivered out of 2 sites), a complex needs nursing service, and a small team
of healthcare support workers delivering individual care packages. The role
will involve providing credible leadership in clinical practice and delivering
excellence in clinical care as required.
You will provide professional and clinical
leadership to all staff across the service, working collaboratively with Matron
and wider management team to ensure that the services we provide are safe, high
quality and evidence based.
Main duties of the job
You will model high ambitions for the service, and a
commitment to practice evolving to meet the needs of our local families; you'll
have a proven track record of service improvement and transformation, and the
ability to manage change. You will demonstrate the ability to motivate, support
and develop our teams and lead the delivery of clinical supervision.
You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the
assessment and management of risk outside of the hospital environment, and the
ability to further develop the governance framework around children's community
nursing.
Our patients are becoming increasingly more
complex, therefore you will be able to demonstrate an extensive clinical skills
portfolio that is relevant to our caseload. In all your activities you will
role model the highest standards of contemporary practice.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
