Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen
for a 6 month secondment within the surgical care group to support clinical
governance and quality. We are hoping to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic
individual to join the existing governance team to support the ongoing
governance and quality assurance. This individual must be a good team worker
but also able work independently to meet time deadlines. This is a varied role
as the surgery care group covers many specialities. This role provides a great
opportunity to learn and progress within surgery.
Main duties of the job
As a clinical governance facilitator
you will work closely within a small team to support the surgical care group in
the management of Risk/Quality Assurance. Some of the day to day responsibilities will
include supporting clinical staff with the management of Ulysses safeguards,
patient safety investigations, (using PSIRF framework), complaint responses,
management of the Risk Register and compliance around policies/NICE
Guidelines/LocSSIPs etc. You will need to build solid working relationships
with clinical staff, the Patient Safety Team, the Patient Experience team and
wider organisational colleagues. A key element of this role is to support the
care group into identifying themes around harm, areas of good practices and to
give assurance to our patients and stakeholders that learning has been shared
and actions following learning can be demonstrated. Although this is an office
based role, with potential for optional working from home on occasion, the
expectation is that the successful candidate will visit wards and departments
to maintain visibility of the service.
The nominal base is yet to be
confirmed. (DMH/UHND)
