We are a small and friendly HR team looking for a HR Apprentice
to join us at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust to work alongside
our existing team to provide an efficient, effective and confidential HR
service to staff and managers within the Trust.
As County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is an
integrated Trust this is an exciting opportunity to experience working and
supporting managers and colleagues both in an Acute and Community setting.
Main duties of the job
The role will support the team acting as the first point of
contact for managers and staff providing HR advice and guidance as required on
HR issues.
To role supports the HR team by providing an effective
administrative support; including for example, the preparation of agendas and
minutes, preparation of documentation for hearings etc.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a
Level 3 HR Support apprenticeship as part of their role.

Job responsibilities
The role will involve responding to queries from employees
and managers via email and the telephone and wil include assisting in the monitoring
of absence using departmental IT systems, including analysis of statistical
absence information to identify hotspot areas and themes of reasons for
absence.
The role will require the postholder to maintain accurate
and timely data entry to databases to meet service requirements as well as general
duties including filing, photocopying, distribution etc.
The postholder will assist in the collation of material and information for various meetings
including the preparation of agendas and minutes, ensuring papers such as for
hearings etc, are provided and distributed on time and appropriately, as
directed.
The role also includes the planning and organisation of long-term
sickness meetings under the direction of a HR Advisor/Manager including
scheduling of diary appointments.
The role ensures an element of monitoring of the OPAS/GT
Occupational Health system; tracking Occupational Health & Wellbeing referrals,
appointments and reports to ensure timely support from the HR team.
The role will include the taking of notes as requested in
investigatory meetings including the provision of administrative support for
the Policy Review Group meeting including notetaking at meetings.
The role will enable the postholder to obtain and maintain a
good working knowledge of the Trusts HR policies and procedures in order to advise
managers both face-to-face and virtually in response to requests for
information.
The role will allow the postholder to have management of their own HR caseload providing
generalist advice to managers
