Job summary

This position is an exciting opportunity to join the Informatics team at County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust in supporting the Pathology directorate.

The successful applicant will work alongside the Pathology Systems Manager to manage both the main Laboratory Information Management System (Winpath V5 currently) and the ICE order communications system, but also offering support and advice regarding a number of other systems and processes both within Pathology and across the Trust.

This position involves close working with the wider Informatics and Clinical community throught the Trust and beyond.

The Trust is engaged in a regional project to replace the current LIMS with the Cerner Millenium product, is undergoing a laboratory wide refresh of analytical equipment, and will be partnering with other local Trusts to implement a regional order communications solution. The responsibilities and experience available within this position are significant.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be expected, with appropriate training where needed, to cover a number of duties with support from the Pathology Systems Manager, including:

First point of contact for a variety of Trust staff and healthcare partners regarding the Pathology informatics environment.

Day to day management of the LIMS (Winpath Version 5)

Day to day management of the ICE EPR system (Primary Care order communications tool)

Occassional management tasks covering other systems within Pathology

Act as an interface between Pathology and the wider CDDFT Informatics community when appropriate

Primary contact with GP service users for ICE and related issues/tasks

Extraction of data to support Trust clinical and business processes

Management of issues/tasks/changes using the CDDFT IT Portal

Logging and management of support calls with suppliers

Management of documentation and procedures
