We are looking for a dynamic and forward
thinking Pharmacy Technician to join the CDDFT team. The post will be based at
Darlington Memorial Hospital but the post holder will be required to visit the
other main site in order to deliver key objectives.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will develop and manage the
education and training service within the pharmacy department for the pharmacy
assistants, pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians (PTPTs), pharmacy
technicians and the continuing professional development programmes for
registered pharmacy tecnicians.
The successful candidate will be proactive in collating and
interpreting data in order to generate quantitative reports to a wide variety
of staff groups and ensuring that information is shared effectively across the
organisation. Ensuring pharmacy key performance indicators (KPIs) are met. You
will support the management, training and development of pharmacy team members
and review departmental training needs on a regular basis.
You will also be an active member of the
pharmacy senior management team and work closely with other lead pharmacists
and technicians to ensure a high quality, safe, effective and coordinated
service across the trust. The post
holder will participate in provision of our bank holiday, weekend and late duty
rotas.

Job responsibilities
Undertake the day-to-day line management and responsibility
for the planning of training for PTPTs, including sourcing training providers
and the coordination of the training programme. Liasing with training providers
for the most up to date training offerings.
Ensuring pharmacy assistants, PTPTs and post-qualification

training and development programme for all support staff involved in all
medicines process.
Develop the Education Supervisors to deliver training in
multiple forms to pharmacy support staff.
Support the Senior Leadership Team in delivery of the
current pharmacy workforce strategy, encouraging and developing staff in their
career progression.
Monitor and evaluate the practice and competency of pharmacy
staff working within the dispensary and the wards.
Support on the further education and training required to
allow pharmacy technicians to receive appropriate development opportunities and
drive the development of the medicine optimisation service.
Ensure training completed within the submission timescales,
supporting and mentoring trainees. Giving regular feedback with appraisals as
set by the training provider.
Implement and propose changes required to the education and
training provision as directed by the Lead Pharmacist (Education and Training),
Lead Pharmacy Technicians or as per external guidance changes.
Attend the Regional Educational Supervisor and any training
provider meetings and provide feedback to the Chief Pharmacy Technician, other
Workplace Training Supervisors, PTPTs, and Educational Supervisors.
Be an active member of the departments Pharmacy
Leadership Team and work closely with other Lead Pharmacists and Lead Pharmacy
Technicians throughout the Trust to ensure a high quality, safe, effective
