Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for driven and motivated
midwives to become part of our 2 Maternity Continuity of Carer teams who will
provide Maternity Continuity of Carer to a cohort of women in County Durham
based at Bishop Auckland within a Family Hub or Consett at 1 of our Community
Hospitals. This is in line with local and national service developments and
reflects the recommendations outlined in the Better Births National Maternity
Review, and following on with guidance provide by the Ockenden Report.
Our Midwives work across Acute and Community
settings offering a birth availability shift per week, an On Call and Community
working in your locality, with an excellent preceptorship programme lead by our
Practive Development Team. You will be supported and welcomed into your role regardess
of banding and experiance. We are keen to develop highly trained Midwives who
can deliver exceptional care, to the families of County Durham and Darlington.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for midwives
who are committed and passionate to provide Maternity Care during all three
stages of a womans maternity journey. We will take into consideration your
skills and knowledge and develop a plan with you as to your preferred base. As
a case loading midwife you will be responsible for the planning and
implementation of individualised care plans which ensures the womans needs are
holistically cared for and a relationship which is built on mutual respect and
trust. Safety of our women and babies is paramount, and so we are looking for
highly skilled, professional and autonomous Midwives to join our Continuity Teams.
It is important to work within this model you are an excellent Team player,
with an ability to adapt an flex ways of working to ensure support of our women
and a safe service across all area's

models can have safer outcomes for families, and greater job satisfaction for
