Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity motivated midwives to become part of our Pregnancy Assessment Unit Teams, across Acute and Community Pregnancy Assessment Unit sites. We have excellent facilities within our Pregnancy Assessment Unit area's delivering triage and specialist pregnancy services, in a fast paced enviroment, supporting our ANC area's and developing relationships with our women, who regulary require support.
Our Midwives work with our Practice Development Team on arrival into our organisation, and following on from interview you would be provided with contact and support from the team, followed with an excellent preceptorship programme. You will be supported and welcomed into your role reagrdless of banding and experience. We are keen to develop highly trained Midwives who can deliver exceptional care, to the families of County Durham and Darlington, and can't wait to welcome qualified Midwives to join us on our exciting journey for 2023 and beyond.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for midwives who are committed and passionate to provide Maternity Care during outpatient admissions to our Pregnancy Assessment area's. You will be responsible for the planning and implementation of individualised care plans within these area's which ensures the womans needs are holistically cared for and a relationship which is built on mutual respect and trust. Safety of our women and babies is paramount, and so we are looking for highly skilled, professional and autonomous Midwives to join our Teams.
Pregnancy Assessment Units, are highly specialised area's caring for ladies requiring outpatient services, attending for numerous reasons but none the less requiring, care, compassion, and deserving of safe care delievered by highly trained staff members. We have well established Pregnancy Assessments Teams, where you will be well supported and welcomed into our Maternity Family.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
