A 12 month fixed term, 8 hours per week Specialty Doctor is
required to join our friendly and enthusiastic team supporting the delivery of
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) based at Darlington Memorial Hospital.
Applicants should have previous experience in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery
and dento-alveolar surgery.
The role will encompass new and review outpatient
consultation clinics, oral surgery and soft tissue biopsies under LA as well as
Day Case General Anaesthesia.
The successful applicant will be joining a well-established,
high quality, high turn-over Oral Surgery service with an opportunity to
further their career development.
Close relations exist between the service based at
Darlington Memorial Hospital and that of the main OMFS service at James Cook
Hospital, Middlesbrough.

Main duties of the job
The role will encompass new and
review outpatient consultation clinics, oral surgery and soft tissue biopsies
under LA as well as Day Case General Anaesthesia.
There will be opportunities to rotate working
days to give more exposure to wider range of procedures and clinics.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
