Pulmonary Rehabilitation services sits within the community
care group of CDDFT and is focused
solely on delivering improved community services in County Durham and
Darlington and enabling people to live independent and fulfilling lives for as
long as possible. We have an established Pulmonary rehabilitation service for
patients within County Durham & Darlington.
Due to the continued expansion of our community
physiotherapy services in County Durham & Darlington, an exciting
opportunity has arisen for a B3 pulmonary rehabilitation physiotherapy
assistant.
This is a temporary position until 31st March 2023 with the
potential for this to lead to a permanent position. Full or Part time hours
will be considered . It is trust wide and the nominal based can be discussed
prior to or at interview.
Main duties of the job
The role is designed to support the delivery of a
comprehensive community pulmonary rehabilitation exercise programme for
patients with COPD. Pulmonary rehabilitation is offered to promote and embed
pulmonary rehabilitation as an essential component in the management of
patients with COPD and other chronic respiratory conditions, to improve
patients confidence in the self-management of their conditions and to improve
patients health-related quality of life, breathlessness management, functional
and maximum exercise capacity and thus reduce disability associated with
chronic respiratory disease.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
