Job summary
The
Training & Development department has an exciting opportunity for an
enthusiastic, and dedicated Apprenticeship Officer to join the team for a 6
month period.
Apprenticeships are a
fantastic opportunity for existing staff to develop. They are also a great way
to open doors for people from our local community and allow them to earn while
they learn.
The successful applicant
will be responsible promoting and supporting apprenticeships throughout the
trust, providing pastoral support and guidance.
Applicants
will need excellent organisation and communication skills and the ability to
engage and role model the desired behaviours with energy and enthusiasm. They
will need to be friendly, approachable and compassionate, displaying empathy
and active listening skills.

Successful
applicants will be asked to prepare a short presentation to deliver to the
panel on the day.
Main duties of the job
The
successful applicant will be responsible for supporting apprentices and
promoting apprenticeships throughout the trust. They will work in conjunction
with the Training and Development team and internal departments to ensure the
best possible experience and outcomes.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

initiatives to support the enhancing of skills and knowledge.
Support the apprentice
induction process alongside departmental managers.
Maintain accurate records

- Experience of liaising and working with several teams to achieve a goal
- Experience of consistently achieving tight targets and timeframes
- Experience of conducting reviews and providing meaningful feedback.
Desirable
- Previous experience of working within the NHS, or similar large, complex organisation/public sector or a variety of larger organisations
- Data collation & report creation experience.
Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ Level 4 or Diploma or equivalent or equivalent knowledge gained through relevant work experience
