Job summary

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation trust has five urgent care centres across the trust.

We are looking to recruit forward thinking enthusiastic GP’s who would be interested in picking up salaried or sessional hours in our out of hours service.

We have vacancies in our Peterlee and Bishop Auckland centres.

Our urgent care centres provide a home visiting service, telephone advice and face to face consultations for patients requiring urgent and emergency care.

Main duties of the job

Working on systm one in our out of hours service you will receive referrals from 111, paramedics and walk in patients.

You will be expected to prioritise and co-ordinate your work load which includes telephone and face to face consultations, laboratory results, home visits and walk in patients who attend our service with minor injuries and illnesses.

Although our services are GP led you will be working alongside advanced practitioners and healthcare assistant/ drivers.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Hold appropriate medical qualification to practice medicine in the UK
  • Fully registered with General Medical Council with current Licence to Practise
  • Hold a certified GP qualification
  • Registered on a regional Performers list with no restrictions to practise
  • Not suspended or disqualified from practise or on any conditional inclusion list with any NHS organisation.

Desirable

  • DCH/DCCH and or DRCOG
  • Relevant experience of working independently in General Practice
  • GP Registrar supervisor training

  • Positive approach to change
  • Flexible to service needs
