Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for registered Children's
nurses posts. You would join our team on
the Paediatric Assesment Area (PAA), University Hospital of North Durham, providing
excellent care to children and young people.
There will be opportunities to develop new
skills and knowledge, through training and development provided. You will be supported by the existing medical
and nursing team to deliver care within a variety of specialities such as
general paediatrics,trauma, general surgery, orthopaedics,dental and ENT.
Main duties of the job
1. In conjunction
with the Paediatric Assessment Area Manager and Matron ensure that standards of
care for the paediatric service are delivered to a high level and that these
are regularly monitored and appropriately adapted in light of proven research
findings and new developments.
2.Provide enhanced clinical skills in the care of children
with short and long term health care needs within a hospital setting
3.Provide relevant nursing advice both within and outside
the profession as appropriate.
4.Assess, develop and implement care plans in conjunction
with other professionals and parents/carers
5.Guide and supervise nursing and support staff in the
organisation, delivery and recording of client care.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
