applications for the position of Theatre Anaesthetics/Recovery Team Leader for
our Durham Hospital site.

Main duties of the job
Our operating Theatres are based on 4 hospital sites, 2 of
those sites provide acute services for multiple specialities. Our modern
theatre environments have been recently refurbished and extended in order to
provide integrated laparoscopic theatres at Darlington and Durham and increased
laminar flow capacity to support a Centre of Excellence for Arthroplasty at
Bishop Auckland.
The Theatre team work in partnership with the Day Surgery
Units and the ward areas to ensure a positive experience for the patients
within our care. The team are proud of the collaboration with all members of
the multidisciplinary team, and continually take the opportunity to improve and
develop within the perioperative environment. There is currently a focus on
efficiency, safety and quality to deliver an outstanding service to meet the
needs of our patient population.
Our Theatre team are friendly and supportive,
encouraging professional development to enhance skills and professional
competence. The departmental Practice Development team, in coordination with
the Theatre Management team, support the staff members to identify areas for
career progression.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
