We are looking for a health care assistant with experience in child care

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to work within all clinical areas within the Emergency department .

You will be required to attend and complete mandatory training online and face to face .

In addition to this the department offers a comprehensive induction programme and role specific training

Job responsibilities

Undertakes specific direct and indirect care and therapeutic duties as delegated by the Registered Nurse/Health Care Professional within own level of skill and competence.

Carry out specified delegated clinical care and support, consistent with the patient/ users plan of care.

Document a clear and accurate account of any direct or indirect care given to the patient.

Friendly, polite telephone manner being aware of the need for confidentiality and liaising with a Registered Nurse at all times.

Ensure the patient is prepared and checklist is adhered to for safe and effective transfer to the ward.

Escort patients/users to the x-ray department.

Record and document observations with regard to supporting the patient/user’s general health and well being. Reporting any concerns to the named Registered Nurse for that patient.

Maintain friendly and effective communication with the Health Care Team and the patient/user and relatives.

Reassure and comfort patients/users and relatives in times of need.

Chaperone patients as appropriate.

Assist the Nursing Team to maintain safe levels of stock and equipment within the department.

Willingness to undertake training to develop skills required to care for patients/ users attending the Emergency Department.
