You must have significant evidence of paediatric experience: Experience as 2nd
oncall (Registrar level)
Evidence that all ST3 equivalent competences
have been achieve. Additionally you must have good communication skills.
Main duties of the job
This
job will involve working on the middle grade rota covering acute admissions to
the general paediatric ward and also covering deliveries to our special care
baby unit.

Job responsibilities
This post is a replacement permanent, full time
non-training (1:7 rota, EWTD compliant) non-training Middle-Grade post in acute
paediatrics available from as soon as possible to start. Applicants must have
achieved competencies at ST3 level in paediatrics or equivalent, with recent
2nd oncall experience covering both general paediatrics and neonatal unit. The
post holder will work as an integral member of the paediatric team at
middle-grade level.
This post is suitable for applicants with an interest in acute
paediatrics. There are opportunities to gain experience in teaching medical
students, delivering simulation sessions and participating in out-patient
clinics based on interest and experience. We can support experienced doctors in
their application for CESR.
This is not a recognised training post, however there will
be opportunities for training in general Paediatrics and some Pediatric
subspecialties within our department. We have a robust departmental teaching
programme and you can access regional courses and conferences in North-East
England.
DMH has an active Postgraduate Centers with a good library
facility and are acknowledged for excellence in education. Single accommodation
may be available.
