This
is an opportunity to join our established Adult Physiotherapy team. This post
is open to new graduates and established band 5 physiotherapists. We are
seeking to recruit band 5 Physiotherapists to join our diverse team, who work
across a range of clinical specialties within an acute care setting,
rehabilitation and MSK outpatients. The
post holder will work alongside colleagues assess and treat patients across a
range of clinical conditions which present with varying degrees of complexity.
As a Physiotherapist you will have direct input with patients who present
within acute care, rehabilitation and MSK outpatients. You will be responsible for delivering
evidence based interventions to facilitate recovery, promote well-being and
optimise independent function. You
will be an active member of the physiotherapy team and the wider multi-disciplinary
team. We are seeking people who can adapt to changing environments and work
well in a team.
Main duties of the job
Clinical work is organised into 6 monthly rotations over a
wide variety of areas including musculoskeletal outpatients, orthopaedics,
medical, surgery, respiratory, pulmonary rehabilitation, ITU and stroke
rehabilitation. You will work alongside physiotherapy staff and the wider MDT
and your development will be supported by senior staff working within these
areas. The trust has robust induction and training including competency base
training in each area of speciality. The physiotherapy department aims to support
all successful candidates through competencies in all core areas including on
call training. This post requires a commitment 7 day working and on call
working.
There are opportunities to work at
University Hospital North Durham, Darlington Memorial Hospital, Bishop Auckland
Community Hospital, Sedgefield Community Hospital, Shotley Bridge Hospital,
Chester le Street Community Hospital, Peterlee Community Hospital.

This is a trust wide rotational band 5 post across a wide
variety of specialisms. The post holder will autonomously provide Physiotherapy
assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice to patients presenting with a range
of conditions
Rotations are for a six month period.
The post-holder will be under the guidance of a senior
therapist.
The post holder will contribute to the countywide adult
physiotherapy service and base of work will be determined by the designated
rotation.
The post-holder will organise and
manage their own caseload deemed to be within their competency.
To undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients, using
investigative and analytical skills, to formulate individualised treatment
plans, using clinical reasoning skills, and utilising a wide range of treatment
skills. Not directly supervised, but
seek advice as and when required.
As an autonomous practitioner, to be professionally and
legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own clinical and
non-clinical activity associated with individual patient care.
To delegate treatment tasks to
unqualified staff inclusive of assistants and technical instructors and to
organise appropriate training.
