Job summary

Lancashire Hospitals Services (Pharmacy) Ltd is delighted to be able to offer a full time vacancy for an Outpatient Relief Pharmacist where no two days will be the same!

Why you ask? We have different branches which you will rotate across and with being in a hospital environment, it will enable you to develop your clinical knowledge in the multiple specialities including Oncology, Paediatrics, Neurology and many more. Primarily, you will be expected to cover branches within Morecambe Bay (Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Westmorland General Hospital, Furness General Hospital) and Blackpool Victoria Hospital. There may also be a requirement to work at our other sites.

If you have never worked in a hospital setting before, you will be provided with the necessary training to help you succeed. The team are friendly, helpful and supportive of one another and by working collaboratively, enable us to deliver a service that we are proud of. You will also work as part of a wider, multidisciplinary team and will regularly engage with other healthcare professionals.

Please note opening hours vary slightly in each site, with working hours 8.5-9 hours daily (with a paid lunch break).

On a day to day basis, you will act as the Responsible Pharmacist and play a pivotal role in terms of ensuring a safe and effective environment for our patients.

Lancashire Hospitals Services (Pharmacy) Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. We provide the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust with the outpatient dispensing service at Royal Preston Hospital, Rosemere Centre (within Royal Preston Hospital) and Chorley and South Ribble District General Hospital. We now also provide University Hospitals Morecambe Bay Trust (Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Westmorland General Hospital & Furness General Hospital), Blackpool Victoria Hospital and East Lancashire Hospital Trust (Blackburn & Burnley).
