As a member of our close knit team, you will have excellent communication and organisational skills, managing your workload, working as part of a technical and clinical team.
The role involves working in our orthopaedic clinic cross site at Preston and Chorley. This is a 18 month trainee role which you will be paid as a paid 3 and move to band 4 on completion of training and competencies. there will be an expectation for you being fully committed to learning and training through out the role. In return we will support you through the courses and in house training to meet the relevant competencies required.
Main duties of the job
As an integral member of our orthopaedic practitioner team, you will play a vital role in the supporting of clinics. General duties include

hours will cover between 8am -6pm Monday to Friday with some weekend cover
The initial post will be a training post-paid as a band 3; rising to a band 4 on completion of the two year British Orthopaedic Association Diploma in casting. The post holder will be part of a specialised team providing a comprehensive, efficient casting and splinting service to the trauma and orthopaedics directorate. Providing support for all consultants, wards, clinics, and theatres across the department and both sites.
The post holder will also receive practical and theoretical instruction and work alongside the Qualified Plaster technician to gain experience in casting application and after receiving a minimum of 12 months casting application experience be prepared to undertake the British Casting Certificate course. The post holder will be supported through their training by a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and the Registered Plaster Technician
