We work in partnership with our clients building a strong working relationship and putting our customers at the heart of what we do.As a result of our drive to grow and to deliver added value to our customers, we are advertising a role of Business Systems Officer to join our growing team and take the lead in providing first class support in order to deliver a brilliant cost efficient service. You will have a level of accountability for ongoing support and development of both bespoke ELFS and 3rd party software to support both the ELFS teams and clients we provide services for.

Main duties of the job

The role of Business Systems Officer involves assisting the Business Systems Team Leader in managing and developing the Financial Systems within ELFS. You will be responsible for the resolution of both routine and non-routine queries along with providing support for the interfacing of data from external feeder systems into eFinancials according to agreed timetables.

You will require excellent keyboard skills where speed and accuracy are essential. A high proportion of the day is spent using computer applications, extracting, and analysing, manipulating and interpreting information, creating complex spreadsheets for use within the department and by Client Organisations.

You must be fully conversant with IT applications and terminology. A high proportion of the day is spent using computer applications and interpreting complex information, therefore keyboard accuracy and attention to details is an essential part of the position.

Job responsibilities

Provision of the efficient and effective day to day operation of ELFS Business Systems Team

  • Provide support & advice to junior team members.
  • Participate in reviews of application functionality and develop ideas of how they can be adopted to specific areas of the organisation ( ELFS or Client) to enhance user experience and efficiency.
  • Maintain control over the security of ELFS systems in conjunction with the Business Systems Team Leader and Advanced 365 (ABS Managed Service).
  • Monitor and support the running of all daily, weekly and monthly interfaces through the eFinancials system to strict deadlines, ensure that all interface errors are corrected promptly. Identify issues and develop and implement procedures to prevent re-occurrence and monitor overall quality. Ensure detailed records are maintained of all corrections identifying trends and suggesting improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with key contacts to monitor and agree a schedule of close down dates and process month end closedown of ledgers and sub-ledgers including the running of reports for ELFS and client organizations.
  • Support the Business Systems Team Leader in pro-actively contributing to the continuous improvement of technology/business processes through identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes.

Qualifications & Education

Essential

  • GCSE in Math's and English Grade C

Desirable

  • Holds or working towards AAT Level 3
  • Hold or be studying towards qualification in Information technology Management at NVQ level five or demonstrate knowledge and experience to an equivalent standard within Business Systems.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrate ability to effectively use spreadsheets, E Mail and Microsoft Office facilities.
  • Substantial experience of ERP systems.

Desirable

  • Substantial OneAdvanced application (eFinancials) experience
  • Experience of support CRM systems
