Job summary

Do you want to explore more opportunities where your profound expertise in acute medical care assumes a pivotal role.

You will be expected to have extensive experience in Acute medical care with a level of senior responsibility. You will be responsible for the training and development of all nurses and Healthcare Assistants to ensure excellent patient care.

You will also be expected to support and give direction to all nurse and Healthcare Assistants to promote, enhance and maintain high quality care on the unit. There will also be an expectation that you also work clinically to provide support and guidance to junior staff and assist with smooth running of the unit.

You are expected to provide clinical leadership and direction to the team and ensure departmental compliance with all mandatory elements of training and manage the database in line with trust policy. You will be expected to produce reports and audits as part of Clinical Governance.

Furthermore, you will assist with the inductions of new starters and will be required to ensure newly qualified staff have a preceptorship qualification and undertake clinical shifts to ensure they are supported.

Main duties of the job

To be part of an integrated education team - providing in house training within a clinical environment

To provide cascade training

Deliver teaching sessions on relevant topics for example BLS, ANTT, IPC, Manchester Triage Training, falls, pressure ulcers, nursing risk assessments, acute medical conditions & medication safety.

Work alongside newly qualified and international nurses and deliver up to date training

Maintain records for the department for all training compliance

Audits and Appraisals

Assist in the recruitment and training of new staff

Maintain updates for mentors and provide clinical supervision

MDLO training

Assist with SIM training, Inductions and performance management

Medicine Safety management
