Job summary

Are you an experienced NHS clinician looking to be part of a dynamic team supporting ENT Services? Within the Surgery Directorate, we greatly value our ENT staff, they play an important role in the day to day running of our Clinical Services, making sure that patient care is at the forefront of all we do.

Main duties of the job

You will utilise advanced skills and knowledge to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment and care for ENT patients presenting with undifferentiated diagnoses. You will use your expertise to manage patients within an agreed scope of practice from initial presentation to discharge across entire divisional pathways.

As an autonomous practitioner, you will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary ENT team to support service developments in line with local and national initiatives. Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Highly motivated and experienced practitioner with substantive range of experience within a relevant clinical setting.
  • Recent, substantial surgical care experience
  • Broad & advanced knowledge of clinical pathophysiology
  • Sound level of knowledge in relation to invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Has the knowledge to support safe clinical decision making in relation to discharge

Desirable

  • Experience in managing chronic health issues
  • Knowledge of more than one area of clinical practice - i.e surgery,medicine, orthopaedics, ITU

Qualifications & Education

Essential

  • Professional clinical qualification
  • Current professional Body registration
  • Master's Degree in Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice / Masters degree in relevant specialist clinical field.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • ALS certification or equivalent
  • Independent Non Medical Prescribing qualification. (where legally able to).

Desirable

  • Teaching Qualification (7307/Certificate in Education/equivalent) or willing to undertake
  • Advanced Life Support Qualification
  • Leadership/Management qualification or willingness to undertake.
