The Pharmacy Department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to be able to offer a vacancy for a Bank Pharmacy Assistant in dispensing or Reception/Clerical support.

Main duties of the job
Dispensing duties:
- ? Working with pharmacy teams to prepare and supply medicines products directly towards for patient use
- ? Stock control including ordering, receipting drug deliveries stock rotation, expiry checking, and date checking
- ? Sorting medications, disposing of unwanted medicines, and updating pharmacy computer
- ? Dispensing directly on a ward to supply chemotherapy medicines to patients
- ? Medicines supply and top-up service
Reception duties:
- ? To greet visitors to the department at the hatch and ask how you can help, if applicable direct visitors to the office so they can sign visitors book and collect ID badge
- ? Direct queries from visitors to the correct person
- ? Answer telephone and take messages as required
- ? Keep the work area tidy and use detergent wipes to clean when needed
- ? Log onto own trust email account and print off infopath/technician/pharmacist sheets via the pharmacy email
- ? Log onto the pharmacy tracker and book discharge prescriptions on and off the system
- ? Take EPMA work off the printer and either log it onto the tracker or place it in the dispensary tray
- ? Check regularly printer has enough paper
- ? Hand out medication to trust staff, checking ID
- ? To maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times
- Other duties as requested by the Dispensary Team Leader/Senior Assistant.
