Main duties of the job

? Our Cyber Security Team: Coordinating Proactive Protection!

As a crucial member of our Cyber Security team, you'll be responsible for liaising with existing Technical Services staff, Digital Health Informatics department, and external partner organizations to coordinate both reactive and proactive cyber security activities. Your role will involve proactive monitoring, reviewing, analysing, and interpreting security incidents and alerts generated by IT security systems. Additionally, you'll manage the annual cyber security health-check and audit process, document actions, and provide regular updates on progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate reactive and proactive cyber security activities across technical teams and external partners.
  • Monitor, review, and analyse security incidents and alerts generated by IT security systems.
  • Manage the annual cyber security health-check and audit process, providing regular updates on progress.
  • Attend and manage agenda for monthly Cyber Security Committee meetings.
  • Support Information Governance with the annual Data Security and Protection Toolkit.
  • Advise Technical Services Infrastructure Manager on relevant cyber security vulnerabilities.
  • Prioritize and address service requests, official investigations, planned maintenance, and ad-hoc requests for cyber security information.
  • Develop new cyber security processes across teams and work closely with suppliers and regional teams.

  • Proactive Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor, review, analyse, and interpret security incidents and alerts generated by IT security systems, including the Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) solution. This includes identifying Priority One incidents, such as system compromises or security breaches, as well as abnormal user behavior alerts, such as outdated antivirus software.

  • Annual Cyber Security Health-Check: Manage the annual cyber security health-check and audit process. Document actions taken and provide monthly updates on progress to ensure continuous improvement in cyber security posture.

  • Cyber Security Committee Meetings: Manage agenda and attend monthly Cyber Security Committee meetings. Provide insights, updates, and recommendations to enhance cyber security measures.

  • Support for Information Governance: Assist in supporting Information Governance by contributing to the annual Data Security and Protection Toolkit. Ensure compliance with data security standards and regulations.

  • Advisory Role: Support the Technical Services Infrastructure Manager by advising on relevant cyber security vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies.

  • Issue Resolution and Communication: Bring key cyber security issues to the attention of relevant Technical Services staff members. Provide recommendations for remedial action to address incidents promptly.

  • Timely Threat Advisories: Ensure timely communication of potential cyber security threats to the Technical Services senior management team. Provide actionable insights to mitigate risks and protect the organization.

  • Priority Handling: Work within the Technical Services team to prioritize service requests, official investigations, planned maintenance, and ad-hoc requests related to cyber security. Ensure timely resolution and response to cyber security incidents.

  • Information Technology related degree, or equivalent proven knowledge in IT & technology fields.
  • Associated professional qualifications in Microsoft certification, Cisco certification, VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

Desirable

  • ITIL Certification in Service Management
  • MS Project
  • Prince 2 certification

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a high level technical services support role.
  • Experience in a customer service environment
  • High level involvement with I.T. project implementations
