Job summary
Are you an experienced Physiotherapist looking to further your career? Do you have a passion for Trauma Orthopaedics and Major Trauma? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? If this sounds like you, come and join the Core Therapies "Team of the Year" as our Clinical Lead Physiotherapist.
"Supportive", "incredible", "funny" and "all round epic" are just some of the words used to describe the Trauma Orthopaedic therapy team recently. We are a well-established team with a passion for providing holistic rehabilitation and continual improvement within our services.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a regional Major Trauma Centre, providing assessment and treatment to a variety of patients from 16 - 100 and beyond. The role will offer plentiful opportunity to develop your leadership skills whilst also further advancing your clinical skills through management of a complex caseload. You will also support the management of the Major Trauma team and the clinical provision of services in this area, including implementing actions from our recent peer review. You will work alongside a dedicated, supportive and friendly integrated therapy team in order to provide effective, co-ordinated care for your patients.
Main duties of the job
You will lead the Trauma Orthopaedics and Major Trauma teams collaboratively alongside the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist. You will have direct responsibility for the Physiotherapists within the speciality. You should possess excellent leadership skills, team working and communication which are essential to ensure the effectiveness of the service and satisfaction of the team. Thriving under pressure and working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment is important in this role, as well as being able to effectively problem solve.
Our Core Therapy team is well integrated and you will be expected to work closely with the Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants in order to provide joined up, holistic care to patients. Having experience with core people management is important in order to encourage staff to continually develop to maintain high standards of care, team morale and motivation.
There are a range of opportunities for both personal and professional development at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. We have a dedicated Health Academy and the learning and development of staff within the Trust is very much encouraged and supported.
In recognition of the need for enhanced provision, Core Therapies are looking to move towards 7 day working and as such the successful candidate will be expected to support this model of care where it is already implemented and in the future implementations.
