Job summary

Are you a highly motivated systems administrator who has the drive, ability and knowledge to drive our services forward and provide the best service to our clients?ELFS is an NHS owned Shared Service organisation providing back-office transactional services to many NHS Trusts across England. Established in 2002, We are a business division of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. over the last 20 years we have helped the Trusts we work with to improve their services whilst reducing back-office costs. We work in partnership with our clients building a strong working relationship and putting our customers at the heart of what we do.As a result of our drive to grow and to deliver added value to our customers, we are recruiting a Finance Systems Assistant to join the team and provide support for our finance systems. You will have shared responsibility for a range of tasks including maintaining and updating finance systems and providing support to ens users.We are looking for an individual with strong IT skills and some experience of working in a administrative environment.

Main duties of the job

Your key responsibilities both individually and as part of the team will be to:

  • Maintain and update finance systems in line with client requests
  • Monitoring support requests received from client organisations which relate to the systems that we manage
  • Reconcile, Load and run a number of different processes at regular intervals to ensure that system operations continue the best way they can.

The systems team have a key integral role within ELFS and you will form part of a growing team allowing you to learn the various systems that we look after and a wide variety of processes which we undertake.

Providing technical support and advice to end users across our client base, you will play a key role in ensuring that we provide the best service possible.

You will be part of a team that provides key input into how processes work operationally within ELFS ultimately leading to system developments and enhancements.

Job responsibilities

      • Monitor the performance of finance systems for client organisations and escalate any issues.
      • Assist with user access requests.
      • Download data from payroll systems for input into trust finance ERP systems.
      • Reconcile monthly and weekly ESR General Ledger interface files to the ESR Element Costing Summary Report and the ESR Gross to Net report.
      • Run balanced interface files into clients General Ledger (GL) systems and correct any errors.
      • Load other appropriate third party data into clients General Ledger (GL) systems.
      • Monitor support requests raised by client organisations and ensure that they are resolved within strict deadlines.
      • Reconcile monthly and weekly ESR General Ledger interface files to the ESR Element Costing Summary Report and the ESR Gross to Net report, identifying any discrepancies.
      • Utilize reporting tools to develop a range of standard reports and share them with users where requested.
      • Prepare ad hoc reports as and when required for ELFS staff and client organisations.

Knowldege and Experience

Essential

  • Excellent knowledge and experience in using Windows base and Microsoft applications

Desirable

  • Experience of working within an Administration or Financial environment

Qualifcations and Education

Essential

  • GSCE passes in Maths and English Language at grade C or above

Desirable

  • NVQ level two or equivalent experience.
