An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Advanced Clinical Practitioner in the newly developed Acute hospital at home service working under the umbrella of our Same Day Emergency at Royal Preston Hospital.
The new unit has been developed after a £1.9 million of investment, which has been utilised to design and build a full new clinical area which the service will operate within. There has also been a further £2.5 million of workforce investment made which will create a fully established Same Day Emergency Care team.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting new venture for Royal Preston and we are now looking to build a substantial team that share the vision we have. The individuals must be enthusiastic and motivated, have excellent leadership skills and the ability to problem solve, effectively communicate with patients and all members of the multi-disciplinary team. The team will be extremely fast paced and proactive.
Since the opening of our Same Day Emergency Care we have developed a number of pathways to improve admission avoidance for our patients. Our next step is to implement Acute Hospital @ Home which aims to diagnose, treat and discharge patients in the comfort of their own home. This will work in conjunction with our Acute virtual ward and have senior consultant oversight.

- oProfessional clinical qualification.
- oCurrent professional Body registration.
- oMSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or evidence of appropriate level 7 study in relevant specialist clinical field.
- oIndependent/Supplementary Non-medical Prescribing (where legally able to).
- oEvidence of continuing professional development.
- oAdvanced Life Support qualification.
Desirable
- oTeaching Qualification (7307/Certificate in Education/equivalent) or willing to undertake.
- oAdvanced Paediatric Life Support Qualification and Trauma management qualification (ETC, ATACC, ATLS or equivalent)
- oLeadership/Management qualification or willingness to undertake.
- oRCEM ACP credentialling

- oHighly motivated and experienced practitioner with substantive range of experience within emergency medicine.
- oBroad & advanced knowledge of clinical pathophysiology
- oSound level of knowledge in relation to invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- oHas the knowledge to support safe clinical decision making in relation to discharge
- oProven leadership experience including delivering to targets and service improvement.
- oLeadership of teams or change initiatives
- oDemonstrates current knowledge of professional and NHS issues and the implication for clinical environment.
