A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Nursing Associate/Assistant Practitioner to join our Charles Beard Theatre/Dressing Clinic. We are providing you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within Plastic Surgery & Burns department. Our department is unique due to opportunity to work in 2 different environments dressing clinic and local anaesthetic theatre.

We provide service Monday to Friday. You will require to work one long day a week. This is a full time role at 37.5 hours a week.

Main duties of the job

As a key member of the Plastic Surgery and Burns team, you will be expected to deliver high standard of preoperative and patient-focused care within a very busy and progressive department.

You should have good communication and interpersonal skills, be able to use your own initiative and work within multidisciplinary team and on your own. You will be expected to be flexible with working hour that includes working late evenings.

You will require working in both Plastic and Burns Dressing Clinic and Charles Beard Theatre (local anaesthetic only). Our Dressing Clinic is ran by nurses who have high level of autonomy, with the ability to make detailed care decisions, admit and discharge patients from the clinic.

You will gain valuable experience in pre and post-operative care, management of minor burns and specialised wound care. You will develop wound assessment knowledge and wound care management skills including Burns Care. These skills are transferable to any area of your nursing career. Moreover, you will have a unique opportunity to develop theatre skills, including running and scrubbing.
