Job summary
We have an exciting internal opportunity for an individual who wants to further develop their NHS analytical skills and level of service responsibility. We are looking for an experienced NHS analyst with proven technical and analytical skills to further enhance the development of PbR reporting. You will have experience of using NHS PbR datasets to process, analyse and report information, having developed some SQL and Qlikview skills along with knowledge of NHS, PbR and the National Tariff Payment System reporting requirements.

Main duties of the job
Your main duties will be:
- Directed lead responsible for the collection, validation and screening of information used to support the development of PbR reporting and development.
- The post holder will develop a clear understanding of the Trusts core systems providing expert advice and guidance regarding appropriate data collection processes. The post holder will be expected to utilise relevant Trust systems to extract, analyse and report relevant, quality assured information.
- The post holder will liaise with relevant Trust departments to develop quality assured data collection and collation processes that meet both internal and external reporting requirements.
- The post holder will attend relevant department meetings as directed within the organisation and attend external national development meetings as required.
- The post holder will develop over time a robust understanding of the reporting available both within and external to the organisation.
- The post holder will develop a clear understanding of the annual planning process, translate the national guidance and rules and support the PbR team in developing a robust planning process.

- Graduate level qualification in information management / statistical analysis or proven experience through practice with detailed evidence of working at this level
- Evidence of continuous professional development

- Advanced IT qualification

- Knowledge and use of data extraction, management and statistical analysis tools e.g. SQL, Qlikview for the analysis and reporting of information across secondary and /or community databases.
- Substantive experience in the NHS in a relevant field
- Good working knowledge of NHS information standards and definitions
- Understanding of information security and legislation surrounding confidentiality e.g., Data Protection Act 1998 and Freedom of Information Act 2000.
- In-depth specialist knowledge of statistical/analytical/ techniques and procedures
- Experience of using and extracting information from different systems
- Experience/knowledge of issues of working with confidential information.
- Experience in analysing and presenting complex Activity & Income data
- Experience of working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and challenging deadlines
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
