We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated registered staff nurse to work in Core Outpatients Department and Discharge Lounge at Chorley Hospital. The Core Outpatient covers the main Outpatients Department, Sumner Suite, you will have the opportunity to work in all of these areas across various specialities .

On occasions you may have the opportunity to work across site to support Outpatients Department at RPH, both sites offer a wide range of specialist services. In the Discharge Lounge you will work collaboratively and cooperatively with wards and departments to meet the needs of patients and their families.

Main duties of the job

You will have good communication and interpersonal skills, be flexible and able to use own initiative. You will need to be able to work in a team and on your own and demonstrate excellent patient care to ensure our patients and families have an excellent experience. Outpatient or Discharge Lounge experience is not required as training will be given to the right candidates.

We offer a seven day service and evening clinics to our patients. Although primarily the shifts are 0800 -1800 and the out of hours requirement is not on a weekly basis but on a need basis. We offer a wide variety of clinics such as Respiratory, Vascular, Renal, Cardiology, Plastics, Urology, Immunology and many others. You will develop various skills to work on all of these clinical areas. The Discharge Lounge welcomes patients from all areas of the trust to help provide capacity for service demands on patient flow through our hospitals.

  • NMC recognised Mentorship qualification or willingness to work towards following 18 months commencement in post
  • Diploma

Desirable

  • Degree in nursing
