Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Admin Assistant/Typist to join us on a permanent basis.

You will provide a typing service to the clinical services, as well asdemonstrate excellent organisational skills, must be flexible in approach, able to exercise initiative and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity

Main duties of the job

You will be a team member providing secretarial and administrative support to the support secretaries and Team leaders in the Acute Paediatrics service.

You will provide a professional and courteous manner at all times. Respond to requests for information promptly and efficiently using a variety of communication methods, ensuring that Trust Customer Service standards are adhered to. Ensure information is accurate and meets Trust Standards regarding delivering information.

You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, must be flexible in approach, able to exercise initiative and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity.

This is a very varied role as you will have the opportunity to cover all modalities within Acute Paediatrics including General, Diabetes, Neurology and Neonatal.

Desirable

  • oRSA 3 Typing Qualification
  • o RSA 2 or equivalent

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • oEfficient use of Microsoft, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and intranet
  • oRecent audio typing experience
  • oExperienced and competent minuet taking
  • oBasic knowledge of medical terminology.

Desirable

  • oPrevious admin experience in NHS environment
  • oUse of Trust IT packages ie Quadramed , Alma, Evolve
  • oAdvanced knowledge of medical terminology
