Job summary

We seek a personable, approachable individual who is a confident communicator with a proven track record of delivering growth in both event and community fundraising. You will be experienced in stewarding individual fundraisers as well as fundraising groups whilst being a collaborative team player.

Main duties of the job

Working with the Fundraising Manager, you will support the implementation of Baby Beat fundraising strategy. Building relationships with key supporters and both new and existing external stakeholders, helping to increase income and raise awareness of Baby Beat across Lancashire & South Cumbria. Another part of the role will be to developing volunteer fundraising opportunities, relationships and line manage the Charity and Shop administrator to ensure smooth running of the Baby Beat shop and maximise profit payback to the Charity.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To develop ways of engaging with individuals, community and voluntary groups and raise awareness of the work of the Trusts charities across Lancashire & South Cumbria.

To establish and maintain excellent relationships with potential and existing supporters and volunteers in line with Trust charities strategies.

To motivate individuals, groups, and community organisations to fundraise on behalf of Trust charities and act as ambassadors for the charities.

To advise and support Trust charity supporters, recognising potential difficulties in fundraising approaches and dealing sensitively with the issues surrounding their reasons to support.

To train, develop, monitor and evaluate volunteers in line with best practice in volunteer management.

To help design, organise and roll out fundraising events appropriate to Trust charities target demographic.

To undertake risk assessments for Trust charities and supporter events and take appropriate action to ensure that all health and safety standards are met.

To be a public face of the charities by undertaking public speaking engagements to raise awareness of the work of Trust charities to different audiences as appropriate

To include appropriate key health messages and branding in activities and presentations where appropriate.

To work as part of a team to maximise fundraising opportunities.

To be aware of relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including the Chartered Institute of Fundraising and Fundraising Regulators Codes of Practice, the latest GDPR regulations and maintain the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality at all times.

To maintain accurate records using the donor database in a form useful to others and in line with recognised procedure.

To work with the digital & marketing team to enhance event and participant stewardship through the use of latest event registration technologies for all major fundraising events.

Working with digital & marketing team in the preparation and sign off PR and marketing materials according to established guidelines.

To support colleagues in the organisation of large events and wider fundraising initiatives.

To manage the shop and charity administrator enhancing the service offering and increasing profit payback from Baby Beat Ltd

At times there may be the need for flexible working and you may be asked to support any area of the charities fundraising activities.

  • oMembership of Institute of Fundraising
