Job summary

Calling all qualified or pre-registration Staff Nurses we are looking to recruit within our Neurosurgical team on Ward 2B at Royal Preston Hospital.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse who would like to develop their clinical skills.

This post will suit a proactive individual who wants to develop the skills required to make a difference for our patients, providing high quality, patient focused care. You will join a team who cares about offering high standards of nursing care.

In January 2022 we have restructured our Neurosurgical wards and Ward 2B is now a smaller 17-bedded ward with a fabulous, supportive team.

Main duties of the job

On ward 2B we believe that every single member of the team that works with us, plays a vital part in providing the highest possible levels of patient care. Ward 2B is a very busy 17-bedded acute neurosurgical ward with conditions affecting the brain and spine, treating both elective and emergency patients from the North west of England.

Ward 2B was the pilot ward for CLiP (Collaborative Learning in Practice) in the North west of England and promotes student learning and development during placements. Ward 2B was shortlisted as Student placement of the year in the Student Times Nursing awards 2019.

We were finalists in the Student Nursing Times Awards in 2018. We are a forward thinking, proactive ward and welcome enthusiastic and motivated nurses to join Ward 2B. Come and join us.

This is a great place to work for newly qualified nurses and you will enhance your clinical skills including pre and post operative care of Neurosurgical patients.

This is also a great ward for experienced nurses who are looking for a new challenge and would like to nurse Neurosurgical patients.

About us

We offer training and support for newly appointed staff nurses and preceptorship for newly qualified nurses. We have a great team and we embrace the Trust values promoting excellent care with compassion.

We embrace the Trust values, promoting excellent care with compassion. Nurses are the foundation of any successful Trust and with a strong, dedicated, professional team patients and staff reap the benefits.
