We need you and the wealth of skills and experience you bring as a key BI Developer, to extract knowledge for our clinical and operational teams, hungry for analytics to optimise clinical care and performance and for our vibrant research community. Our collaborative group is working across Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust, Lancashire & South Cumbria ICS and beyond and is closely linked to our innovative Data Science Community.

You will join a group of approximately 20 Business Intelligence Analysts and engineers and you will have options to increase and hone your skills in multiple BI related areas covering up to 40 clinical specialties, including Regional specialist services across Medicine, Surgery, Women and Children's services and Diagnostics. As part of the expanding team, you will use your developer experience to create clear, informative reporting tools, utilising a range of complex data sources derived from our mature Electronic Patient Record system. Given our close relations with Data Science and Development, you may have the chance to build skills in cloud-based technologies, languages such as Python or R, working with the research community and publishing papers.

Main duties of the job

This isn't just a BI role; it's a BI role that that has the potential to make a huge impact ultimately for our patients. It's an exciting opportunity for an experienced developer looking to make their next move within the Business Intelligence field. Your main duties will include developing automated solutions to support the ongoing transition the Business Intelligence department from manual to automated, scheduled processing and visualisation of data. You will utilise your expert SQL, and highly technical programming skills to support the development of the automation process across the service. You will ensure the service maximises the timely flow of data into the Trusts data visualisation tools and the development of appropriate reporting solutions that meets the ever-increasing organisational need for real time operational data.

Your key skill set will include Microsoft ETL Stack (SSIS and SSAS), analysing and reporting on large, complex data sets and experience of using appropriate tools for data visualisation and reporting.
