Job summary
Applications are invited for a Junior Clinical Fellow in Neurorehabilitation & Neurology, within the Neurology and Neurorehabilitation Directorate at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This post is suitable for doctors who have already gained some experience in general acute medicine and who are wanting to deepen their experience in the care of neurological patients.
Contract of employment will be for fixed term of 6 months in the first instance, potentially renewable by agreement for up to 12 months. You should be eligible to work in the UK in a non-training grade post, as this post is not recognised for training purposes.
Main duties of the job
You will join the team of doctors providing inpatient care on the Neurorehabilitation and Neurology wards, and there will also be opportunities to gain clinic experience in neurology and gain competence in procedures such as lumbar puncture.

Job responsibilities
The main duties of this post are to provide care for inpatients on the neurorehabilitation and neurology wards. There are also opportunities to participate in teaching and outpatient clinics.
The post-holder should acquire considerable experience in clinical neurorehabilitation and neurology. Significant clinical learning opportunities are available, with weekly clinical and academic meetings, case presentations and frequent clinical teaching.
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMCs Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
