Duty Worker/Mental Health Practitioner

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a post that is available as a permanent full time Duty Worker / Mental Health Practitioner for the Neighbourhood Mental Health Team at Trafford.

The role of the Duty worker involves managing and responding to allocated duty tasks for the day. This will include regular monitoring of duty inbox and management of the duty desk.

Attending daily referral meetings with the Senior Mental Health Practitioner, Psychologist or Team Manager. If referral not suitable, facilitate passing referral onto appropriate service.

When appropriate, completing telephone screening calls to assess suitability for service and gather information that may be required.

Regular attendance to Huddles, Clinical Review Meetings, Business Meetings Medications Review Pathway. Possible attendance to other meetings including Partnership Huddle and Seniors Meetings.

The Neighbourhood Mental Health Service enables timely access to mental health services when people need it most and provides support for people who might not traditionally meet the threshold or criteria of existing mental health services. The team is multidisciplinary and is operated in partnership with Bluesci, our third sector partner.

The postholder will primarily be based at Manor House at Urmston but this will be subject to change.

Main duties of the job

You will need to have experience of triaging and signposting referrals as well as being able to liaise with multitude of agencies and professionals. Experience and knowledge of community services and third sector organisations in Trafford will be beneficial for this role.

Trafford Neighbourhood Service is compassionately-led, trauma-informed, and recovery-focused. CPD opportunities are available and personal interests/skills are supported to develop and grow.
