Job summary

Manchester Early Detection & Intervention Team ( EDIT) is the ARMS pathway for Manchester. It is a stand -alone therapy service which provides specialist assessment and psychological treatment for 14-35 year olds who have an At Risk Mental State.

Main duties of the job

In conjunction with the EDIT therapy colleagues, the post holders will conduct specialist CAARMS assessments (training will be provided) and manage an individual caseload of complex and varied therapy clients. The post holders will be responsible for providing evidence-based therapies, to formulate and treat psychological difficulties with our client group.

This job description recognises the need to engage with appropriate supervision and professional development as a core theme.

The post holder will demonstrate an attitude which respects and values service users' and their carers and the diversity of young people in Manchester.

Education and training

Essential

  • oBABCP or BACP Accreditation (or equivalent. e.g. ACAT) as psychological therapist, or currently eligible and seeking accreditation
  • oMinimum 2 years post qualifying experience working as a psychological therapist
  • oPost Graduate diploma or above in psychological therapy
  • oA core professional qualification in one of the following: nursing, social work, psychotherapy/ counselling, clinical/counselling psychology, occupational therapy

Desirable

  • oAdditional post qualifying professional level qualifications or training in CFT, ACT, EMDR, CAT, DBT, CBT
