Job summary
Applications are invited from psychology graduates who are enthusiastic about working with people with dementia. The post is full time hours (37.5 hours) and is based in a Memory Assessment Service at Breightmet Health Centre, Bolton. The post is available on a permanent contract.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work under clinical psychology supervision. Work will involve conducting neuropsychological testing related to the diagnostic process for dementia, and relevant post-diagnostic interventions with service users and their families.
The Psychology Team consists of a principal clinical psychologist, a clinical psychologist, and trainees on placement who are all a core part of the wider service MDT. We have good links with the Northwest clinical psychology training programmes and the BPS Faculty of the Psychology of Older People (FPOP). The postholder would also have links with the wider Older People's psychology service in GMMH. As a group we meet twice annually for continuing professional development, as well as other regular forums, and opportunities for further training are encouraged and supported.
