Support, Time and Recovery Worker

Job summary

The post holder will offer one to one support to service users from the North Manchester Early Intervention in Psychosis Service.

The post holder will work closely with the service user's care coordinator and the wider multi disciplinary team; including doctors, therapists and welfare rights and employment specialists to develop an individualised care plan focused on recovery.

The post holder will work with support workers in the associated Central and South Manchester Early Intervention teams to facilitate groups.

North Early Intervention for Psychosis service is based in our exciting new and modern base at the Central Park Hub. This post will involved travel across Manchester city area.

Main duties of the job

  • To positively promote independent living within the communityand make activities responsive to the needs of the serviceuser
  • To contribute to the care planning and review process for individual service users
  • To help service users to achieve their goals by supporting andencouraging them, selecting and facilitating brief interventionsand low level psychosocial interventions appropriate to theservice users level of understanding and ability
  • To act responsibly as a team member and seek help wherenecessary
  • To work within the limits of own competence and responsibilityand refer issues beyond these limits to the relevant people
  • To keep accurate and complete records consistent withlegislation, policies, and procedures

Essential

  • Experience working in a mental health care setting.
  • Experience of assisting individuals in emotional distress.

Desirable

  • Experience of organising and facilitating groups

Education

Essential

  • Recognised competency based level 2 / 3 qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. NVQ, B TEC QCF, Apprenticeship), or equivalent demonstrable experience

Desirable

  • Commitment to undertake continuing personal development ? The Care Certificate (NB - For staff who don't yet have The Care Certificate this will be essential upon appointment and training and guidance will be provided to support satisfactory completion of this)
