Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner (nurse or allied health professional) who has an interest in working with those with Complex Emotional and Relational Needs (CERN) and who wishes to further develop skills in this area. The successful applicant will work with a small team responsible for delivering the CERN pathways across the community services in Trafford.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a small team, working directly with those with CERN needs using a relational approach. The role will primarily involve responsibility for supporting the delivery of the Structured Clinical Management (SCM) pathway in Trafford, as well as supporting the Community Mental Health teams through consultation in complex cases. It will also involve working into the new Living Well service and contributing to other aspects of the CERN pathways as these develop.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Registered Mental HealthRegistered Mental Health Nurse, Psychological Therapist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or similar professional qualification. Demonstrable evidence of post graduate/qualifying education relating to complex emotional and relational needs. Nurse, Psychological Therapist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or similar professional qualification. Demonstrable evidence of post graduate/qualifying education relating to complex emotional and relational needs.
  • Post registration experience of working in multi-disciplinary in CMHT or other relevant clinical settings and liaising with colleagues across services.
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience of working with complex mental health difficulties, including problems associated with complex emotional and relational needs, and severe depression, anxiety, co-morbid substance misuse and trauma.

Desirable

  • Additional qualifications in psychological interventions e.g. DBT skills, SCM, MBT
  • Experience of participating in the delivery of group interventions or providing group supervision / reflection

Knowledge/experience

  • Demonstrable experience of providing clinical supervision and support to others with respect to their clinical work.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing risk and developing plans to support individuals and systems to do so.
