Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for the GMMH Addictions Service. We provide a range of services for people with substance misuse issues through our Achieve partnership in the community (across the boroughs of Bury, Bolton, Salford and Trafford). We are looking to recruit a Team Leader to join our Psychosocial Intervention Team within Achieve services. Working as a PSI Team Leader you will have leadership duties, provide evidenced based structured group work, and one to one interventions. The team is supported by our clinical psychologist, and you will receive regular clinical supervision. We work closely with the trauma informed team and trauma informed CBT therapist.

The post holder should be able to demonstrate their leadership experience and have an excellent understanding and knowledge of the issues affecting substance users and potential barriers to accessing services.

The post holder will have knowledge of the recovery agenda, demonstrate excellent communication skills with service users, their families and significant others by using motivational approaches to inspire others to achieve their goals and assist in attaining and maintaining their recovery.

Main duties of the job

  • Leadership duties.
  • To provide effective evidence based PSI interventions in 1-1 and structured group work setting to encourage successful outcomes.
  • To work in partnership with other professionals/agencies to ensure that service users needs are met.
  • To support service users to engage with mutual aid/self-help support groups and services to help them in their recovery journey and promote independence.
  • To involve families and carers in service users care where appropriate.
  • To assess and manage risk, working with service users, their families, and other agencies where appropriate, to minimise risk and encourage those affected to adopt safer practices and live healthier lifestyles.
