Job summary

We are delighted to advertise 1 Advanced Clinical Practitioner (multi-agency) training post based within the inpatient wards at Atherleigh Park, Leigh. This exciting new role is a fully funded training position, you will be supported through a 3 year Master's degree programme to compliment your professional development in mental health, resulting in progression to band 8a upon successful completion of the course.

To be part of our team, successful candidates will be an experienced nurse or allied health professional, have excellent leadership and clinical skills, as well as evidence of continuing professional development, have drive, ambition, passion, a flexible approach and be dedicated to working in a fast paced, challenging but exciting environment in a well-established and supportive MDT.

Successful post holders will undertake the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice Masters degree programme (level 7 apprenticeship) with Manchester Metropolitan and be committed to completing both the academic, clinical and leadership requirements of the programme.

In order to access apprenticeship funding, candidates must evidence that they have a first degree 2:2 or above, and GCSE Maths and English at C or above, please clearly demonstrate within the application form. Manchester Metropolitan require a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.

Main duties of the job

Candidates without a first degree may be able to complete an APL process to demonstrate other L7 learning or relevant educational and clinical experience to be considered.

Upon qualification, the Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) will be responsible for assessment, diagnosis, formulation and prescribing of care planning including discharge planning within agreed protocols. The post holder will be recognised as an expert practitioner in an identified field of practice (including but not limited to non-medical prescribing), and will advise the Multi-Disciplinary team on expert, safe and effective models of care and treatment.

They will provide clinical leadership and management leading to the provision of safe, quality and effective care. They will support the improvement of workforce knowledge through inpatient education and training programmes.

The post holder will effectively be required to work across the range of services as determined by service user need.
